The Flood
The Flood documents a dramatic night in Hackney Wick when the Lee River Navigation Canal burst its banks, flooding the area due to mismanagement by the Canal and River Trust. As the water rose, submerging streets and cars, I photographed the unfolding chaos, documenting the impact on the vibrant community of artists who call this area home.
The floodwaters poured into properties, causing thousands of pounds in damage to homes, studios, and belongings. My work serves as a visual record of the devastation, highlighting the vulnerability of those living in low-cost housing and the resilience of the creative community in the face of unexpected disaster.
